The Vortex is a space-skill game. Your viewpoint is above your spaceship. Your mission is to find the rescue pod, and return it to the central teleport, before the timer reaches zero. You can pick up some extra time and extra points along Your way.
After You returned the pod successfully, You have the same mission, but now a different level. Each level contains colorful obstacles, avoid to collide with them.

You will "die" in the following three cases:

1. You hit the obstacles
2. Your time's up
3. You hit the central teleport without the rescue pod picked up

The control of the ship is a very enjoyable one, if You ever played the Stardust on Amiga, You know it well...
You can rotate the ship clockwise and counter-clockwise with the left/right directional buttons. With the cross button you operates the engine. The ship will move to the direction pointed by its nose. If You want to change the direction of the movement, it's not enough to rotate the ship to that heading, You have to operate the engine too.

We made the game levelpack based, to reach a longer "lifetime". Each of these packs contain 10 different levels. Every level contains one rescue pod and 3-3 extra times/points, but we used a little cheat to make the levels more difficult. Every level-data contains 4 different places for the rescue pod, 8 different places for the extra times and 8 for the extra points. At every start we calculate random numbers to select one of these positions for the pod, and 3-3 different positions for the extras. :)

Additional levelpacks will be downloadable from our site soon ! We had to make a level-editor on PPC Amiga, to make the leveldesign easier and faster, so we hope, we can create ca. 8 - 10 levelpacks. One levelpack is ca. 10 kbytes, and after You downloaded it, You have to copy it to the required folder of Your Memory Stick. You can select the desired pack at every new gamestart with the pack selector.

The highscores will be saved to the Memory Stick ofcoz...

Please restart your PSP after playing the game on 2.0+!!!
